Anyone Else Ever Feel Like This?

  1. What a beautiful painting; I can imagine the conversations around that table, perhaps in Anthony Trollope's novels, which I enjoy. The quote is thought provoking. Large social gatherings can be quite draining at times.

    1. I love the painting too, and even wondered if it might be "too lovely" to go with the quote! :) But then I realized that we don't just lose ourselves in unattractive surroundings, but often in beautiful ones as well. As for me, it's not the beauty that drains me.. it's the fact that ungodly conversation can happen sometimes not always) in the midst of it... and in the midst of all kinds of surroundings.

As far as the painting itself, I think it has an amazing and even unique "sparkle" - and I was glad to be able to share it :) !!

  3. Oh, yes many times. I return to my "cloister" feeling grubby.

  4. Oh my dear Nancy - truer words! I very much dislike large gatherings of people and having to engage in small talk. I find it utterly useless and it drains me completely. I much prefer being home and cloistering cozily. :)

  5. The painting is exquisite, the group very engaging yet I can still see and feel his presence (Our Creator ) amongst them. plants speak of His love to adore the earth we live in. The breathe within each one in conversation mingles in the room as one for we breathe in each spirit. The love in the eyes whether admiration between a man and woman is there only to look within the crowd.it is present and assuring of
Gods gift of life. I could get easily lost among them ,together yet alone with the beloved.

  6. Reminds me of Imitation of Christ, book 1, ch 10
"Often I wish I had remained silent, and had not been among men."
