What Makes a Monastery?

'It is monastic life which signifies a monastery,
and the fact has no vice versa.
The most 'correct' monastery building
in the world would not be a monastery
if monastic life did not pulse within it.'

  1. So encouraging and important for us domestic monks to remember! The monastery must be internal..pulsing with the life and activity of the spirit..before the first bricks are laid on the ground. xx
